Ayurveda is not a shortcut and it is not magic. It is a long record of which plants do what, written down over centuries and still being tested today. This page explains how we read that record, and how we would like you to read our labels.
Where our ingredients come from
Every Veriwell formulation starts with herbs documented in classical Ayurvedic practice for the concern it supports. Some of the ones you will see most often across our range:
- Vasaka (Adhatoda vasica) and Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum) — traditionally used in preparations for the respiratory tract.
- Turmeric (Curcuma longa) — one of the most widely studied botanicals in the world, valued for its curcuminoids.
- Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) — classically described as a rasayana, used to support resilience to everyday stress.
- Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) — traditionally used to support the body’s natural defences.
The exact composition of each product is printed in full on its pack and listed on its product page. We do not use undisclosed proprietary blends that hide quantities.
How to read a supplement claim
Being honest about evidence means being honest about its limits. Three things worth knowing:
- Traditional use is not the same as clinical proof. When we say a herb is traditionally used for something, we mean exactly that — it has a long history of use, not that a trial has proven an outcome.
- Dose matters. A study result only applies at the dose that was studied. This is why we print quantities.
- Results vary. Diet, sleep, existing conditions and medication all change how a supplement behaves for you.
What a supplement cannot do
Veriwell products are Ayurvedic wellness supplements, not medicines. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and they are not a substitute for medical advice, prescribed treatment or a sensible diet. If you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication or managing a medical condition, speak to a qualified physician before starting anything new.
